The agreement was signed in a special ceremony in the Thomas J. Cole Library at Wiley College, by Dr. Jerry Gibson, MISD Superintendent, and Dr. Herman J. Felton, President of Wiley College.

MISD's 18+ STEP Program is "Successfully Transitioning Extraordinary People" from public school to adult life. Under terms of the partnership, Wiley College has agreed to open its doors as a work-site to students with special needs who have completed graduation requirements, but may need continued vocational trianing to land that first job.

Students will gain work-related skills from skilled university personnel under the supervision of MISD job coaches, as well as attend seminars having to do with soft skills.

Officials from both MISD and Wiley were on hand for Monday's ceremony. The partnership is expected to be mutually beneficial to parents, students, local businesses and the surrounding community.

Thank you to Wiley College for your continued support of our MISD students!
