Marshall ISD's Fine Arts programs have a long history of success and have brought a tremendous amount of pride over the years to Marshall. The "Big Red Pride" Maverick Band is a Sweepstakes-award winner, and the MISD Choir program has been a consistent source of pride and accomplishment for several generations of students who have earned Sweepstakes honors as a group and All-State recognition individually.

MISD's Orchestra program continues to grow in both numbers and in honors, and the MHS Theatre Department has made tremendous strides over recent years to become a very solid contributor to the overall success of the Fine Arts department in MISD.

Our students are talented, our students are driven, and our teachers accept nothing less than the best in MISD Fine Arts! Concerts and performances are always open to the public. Unless otherwise noted concerts are on the individual school campuses.

For more information on MISD Fine Arts or specific performing groups, contact Mrs. Sandi Parks, MISD Fine Arts Coordinator, at 903-927-8700.
parksSandi Parks became the District Fine Arts Coordinator following 21 successful years of teaching in MISD: as MHS Head Choral Director (2000-2015) and, previously, (1994-2000) at South Marshall Elementary School. In her 38th year as a music educator, Mrs. Parks brings to the entire Fine Arts Department her vision for the Arts as a means for students to pursue excellence, form lasting relationships, discover their talents, and find a life-long means of fulfillment. Mrs. Parks holds a Master's Degree in Music and a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. Among her honors are being a former Marshall ISD Teacher of the Year (1997) and being presented with a UIL Sponsor Excellence Award by the University Interscholastic League (2008).
