MHS Students Place In Art Contest

This is the image for the news article titled MHS Students Place In Art ContestTwo Marshall High School students have earned honorable mention awards in the East Texas Academic Rodeo Art Contest which was held in conjunction with the East Texas State Fair.

Alexander Aviles’ work, “Texas,” and Jasmine Cannamore’s “The Battle,” were both named honorable mention pieces in the contest. The two Marshall students will be honored for their work at a reception in Tyler on Feb. 24.

Aviles is a sophomore at MHS, while Cannamore is a junior.

The East Texas Academic Rodeo Art Contest is designed to create a healthy competition in the arts in conjunction with the East Texas State Fair. Contest support is provided by the Tyler Junior College Art Department. Places were awarded in each grade level from 1st through 12th grades, and the subject is the student’s choice.
