Maverick Baseball Field

Maverick Field has served as the home of Maverick Baseball since the opening of Marshall High School in 1980. The facility was an all-natural grass field until the fall of 2020, when artificial turf was installed as part of a larger project that included turf on Lady Mav Field for softball as well as a turf field for Maverick Pavilion and replacement of turf in Maverick Stadium.

The new artificial surface will allow for more games and practices particularly early in the season, whereas in the past inclement weather in January and February, in particular, may have forced the Mavs to miss valuable practice time and competition. The facility will also allow for more tournaments and make the venue an attractive place for baseball playoff games and summer tournaments as one of the only turfed fields in the area.
