MECC, like most other MISD campuses, sits in the middle of a neighborhood. In order to keep traffic moving for arrival and dismissal times, it is important to follow the flow of traffic. Following the traffic flow and the directions of staff members helps to ensure the least disruption to our neighbors as possible.
We want students to arrive at school and leave school safely each day. MECC has worked with MISD Chief Arledge to ensure we have a safe and efficient route for traffic. Please remember to stay in your vehicle. MECC staff will greet your students in the morning or escort them to the vehicle in the afternoon.
Place car tags on the rearview mirror of the vehicle. If you do not have your child's tag, you will be required to come inside with your identification to pick up your child.
Students should have a tag on their person and their backpack when they exit the vehicle in the morning. Students should be prepared to exit the car when they reach the drop off area.
Please be kind and patient as we begin the year and everyone learns the routes and routines. We will get into a rhythm after a few days as parents, students, and staff have time to adjust.
