Thank you for making it a priority to get your students to school every day. MEGS has 90% plus attendance on a daily basis.
Tuesday October 1 is an Early Release day and both AM & PM session will attend the AM session. There will be no PM session due to parent conferences from 1-6pm. If you would like to visit with a teacher please call the school and make an appointment for that day.
October 7-11 will be fall break and there will be no school.
Monday October 14 is a regular school day for all MEGS students.
Your students are working hard every day. Please be sure to encourage them.

Welcome to MEGS. The 2024-2025 MISD registration for new and returning students will being on July 22nd! The FIRST day of school will be August 12, 2024. MEGS students will receive schedules on the FIRST day of class. Returning students will remain in their assigned session unless otherwise notified. Students new to MEGS for the 2024-2025 school year should report to the session noted on your acceptance notice. Go MAVS!

This Thursday, May 23, 2024 is the last day of school. BOTH the AM & PM sessions will attend the AM session on this day. The students at MEGS will be released at 12:00pm on Thursday.

Beginning on Monday, May 6, 2024 MEGS will implement a new security protocol. We have been able to purchase a walk-through metal detector for our campus. This new device will allow us to provide a higher level of security on our campus .
Your student will not have to do anything new. All the student has to do is walk through the device. We look forward to providing this additional level of safety and security for all MEGS students and staff. Go Mavs!

This is a reminder that we have STAAR and End of Course testing quickly approaching for students.
The testing schedule is as follows:
-AM & PM students will arrive at MEGS by 7:45 to prepare for testing.
-Students are not permitted to bring snacks. Snacks will be provided.
-When students complete testing each day they will call parents to come pick them up. Students will be required to be picked up when they are finished testing.
-When students that drive to school complete testing they will also be allowed to leave.
English l & 7th/8th ELA STAAR (Tuesday April 16)
English ll (Thursday April 18)
Biology & 8th Science STAAR (Tuesday April 23)
US History & 8th Social Studies STAAR (Thursday April 25)
Algebra l & 7th/8th Math STAAR (Wednesday May 1)

For students that want to graduate in 2024 these EOC exams are an important part of meeting the requirements for graduation.

This is a reminder that on Wednesday January 31 at 5:30pm MEGS will host our annual FAFSA night for Seniors. We will have a guest in attendance from Panola Junior College to assist everyone in getting this process completed. We will also have nachos available for all to enjoy.

Attention parents of bus riders:
The Traversa Ride 360 mobile app provides secure access to student routing information, student scans, current bus location, and planned bus paths.
Ride 360 provides quick access to your child’s routing information, which can include the bus stop, route, driver, and bus number. Ride 360 can also utilize GPS data to give parents and guardians access to information on where their child’s school bus is, the planned bus path, and what time it is expected to be at their scheduled bus stop. School districts may also send notifications to subscribed users of Ride 360 to inform them of general information such as school closings and delays.
