This past Wednesday, MHS Maverick Orchestra competed at UIL Contest. They earned a Superior rating in Sight Reading, and an Excellent rating on stage. This marks both the first time that MHS Orchestra have earned a trophy at UIL, and the highest scores earned on stage since 2011. MISD Orchestra Director Megan Parks states, "The students have worked incredibly hard to achieve this goal and grow musically as an ensemble. This year they have worked in small groups to present chamber music, participated in All-Region auditions, and competed at Solo & Ensemble Contest. They are working hard to bring this program into a new era and we were ecstatic that we reached this first goal!" Way to go, ladies and gentlemen! YOU DID IT!! We are Maverick Proud!
