Foster Care
Students are placed in foster care when Child Protective Services finds it necessary through court proceedings to take control of a child. Foster care is intended to be a temporary "conservatorship" or "substitute care" until permanent placement can be obtained for the child. Children in foster care face many challenges emotionally and physically related to their living situation. There are disruptions to their home, school, and activities through no fault of their own.
