LASO 3

Instructional Leadership

The purpose of the LASO Cycle 3 Instructional Leadership Grant is to strengthen instructional leadership across districts and campuses so that all students particularly those on Title I served and federally identified campuses receive consistent access to rigorous, grade-level instruction every day. Through targeted professional learning, implementation support, and individualized coaching, the grant builds the capacity of district leaders, campus administrators, instructional coaches, and teachers to implement high-quality instructional practices with fidelity.

This grant is designed to support continuous improvement by developing concrete leadership skills in schoolwide culture routines, high-quality instructional materials internalized, observation and feedback cycles, and data-driven instruction. Partnering with an approved provider, participating LEAs use grant funds to implement aligned systems, strengthen instructional coherence, and create sustainable structures that improve teaching and learning. Ultimately, the program aims to accelerate student achievement and close learning gaps by ensuring campuses have strong, supported instructional leaders who can drive effective, campuswide instructional practices.

Strong Foundations Implementation K-5

The purpose of the Strong Foundations Planning Grant is to support LEAs in building a comprehensive, research-aligned instructional framework in either math or literacy that ensures every student has access to rigorous, grade-level instruction every day. Through this grant, LEAs receive targeted technical assistance, professional learning, and structured planning support to develop a clear vision, core beliefs, and instructional expectations grounded in research-based instructional strategies (RBIS).

The grant provides resources to help districts engage leadership teams, stakeholder committees, and instructional experts in a collaborative process that includes diagnosing current instructional practices, analyzing existing materials, and designing a cohesive, RBIS aligned instructional framework. Additionally, the grant supports the development of a rollout plan and informed decisions regarding adoption of high quality instructional materials (HQIM) to strengthen teaching and learning across the LEA.

Overall, the Strong Foundations Planning Grant aims to create sustainable instructional coherence by equipping districts with the tools, structures, and shared understanding necessary to improve classroom instruction, elevate student outcomes, and ensure a strong academic foundation for all learners.
