Rural

The purpose of the Title V, Part B Rural and Low-Income School Program Grant is to help rural and low income school districts address their unique educational challenges by providing flexible federal resources that supplement existing programs and strengthen academic outcomes. Many rural LEAs face limited staffing, reduced access to competitive grant opportunities, and federal allocations too small to make meaningful impact on student achievement. This grant is designed to close those gaps by empowering eligible districts to use federal funds strategically to improve basic instructional programs, support effective teaching, enhance services for English language learners and immigrant students, expand student support and academic enrichment, and increase meaningful parent engagement.

By allowing rural LEAs to direct funds toward their locally identified needs, the grant supports efforts to raise student academic achievement, reduce dropout rates, and ensure equitable access to high-quality educational opportunities for all students and teachers in participating school districts.
