Marshall ISD is excited to share that Marshall High School senior, Jose Orlando Maldonado has received acceptance and a full ride to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Jose was 1 out of 2,550 finalists in the country to receive the QuestBridge National College Match scholarship, and was within the 4.6% acceptance rate for MIT applicants.
Jose shared that he plans to major in electrical engineering at MIT, stating that he has always been interested in electronics. “MIT was my number one choice school because their teaching style is hands-on”, he shared. “I learn things best through a hands-on learning approach because I am able to see my mistakes and learn from them.”
Jose hopes to one day pursue a career of building computers.
Marshall ISD is very proud of Jose and we know that he will excel in all that he pursues at MIT. Congratulations, Jose!
