Translation & Interpretation Procedures

As a part of the school-wide Title 1, Part A program, Marshall ISD adheres to the following procedures for translation and interpretation services for the families of MISD students.

According the Home Language surveys collected from the families of MISD students upon enrollment The highest percentage of MISD families speak English and Spanish. 

District Level

  • The district employs a translator at the district level that is available for document translation and for parents as needed.

  • Paper based notices invitations, notes, reports and phone calls through School Messenger sent from the district are distributed in English and Spanish.

  • The MISD District Improvement Plan is available in English and Spanish on the website. Hard copies are available at the MISD Administration Building.

  • The MISD Parent and Family Engagement Policy is available in English and Spanish from the MISD Administration Building.

  • The MISD website www.marshallisd.com can be translated into 10 different languages from the toolbar at the top of the page. 

Campus Level

  • Each campus has personnel available to translate or interpret as needed for parents and families that speak Spanish as their first language.

  • Translation and interpretation services are available in Spanish at campus level parent meetings as needed.

  • Notes and other hard copy communications are sent home in English and Spanish.

  • Campus translators are available for parent conferences, Language Proficiency Assessment Committee (LPAC) meetings, and Assessment, Review, Dismissal (ARD)

    meetings to translate and interpret in Spanish as needed.
