This morning, our JROTC held a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at the high school to honor and remember the many lives lost on September 11, 2001.
Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who lost their lives, as well as the first responders and countless others whose lives were forever changed that day.
Marshall ISD is delighted to welcome two wonderful administrators to their new leadership positions within the district!
Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Courtney Neely, our new Principal at Marshall Early Childhood Center! Mrs. Neely joins the MECC team after serving as Assistant Principal at Marshall Junior High School.
We are also excited to welcome Dr. Melinda Jennings as Principal of David Crockett Elementary & STEM Program! Dr. Jennings brings her experience and dedication from her time as Principal at Marshall Early Childhood Center.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of former coach, Larry Hygh, Sr.
Coach Hygh proudly served our district from August 1999 – June 2010, making a lasting impact on the students, athletes, colleagues, and families he served. He will be remembered for his accomplishments at MISD and his unwavering dedication to mentoring students and helping them grow, both on and off the court. Coach Hygh passed away on September 7, 2026.
Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family, friends, former students, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him during this difficult time.
Our Mav Choirs took a trip to UT-Tyler for an exciting Masterclass on Vocal Technique with Dr. Sooah Park! But the learning didn’t stop there. Students also got the chance to tour the UT-Tyler campus, sit in on and participate in a college choir rehearsal with Dr. Cameron Rose, and enjoy lunch at the campus cafe in the Student Center.
It was a fun-filled day of singing, learning, exploring, and getting a taste of the college choir experience!

In Loving Memory of Reagan Tanner
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Mr. Tanner, a beloved former teacher and longtime member of the MISD family. Mr. Tanner passed away on September 4, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of service and dedication to our students and community.
Mr. Tanner taught 4th–6th grade at Robert E. Lee Elementary from 1972–1995 and continued teaching at J.H. Moore until his retirement in 1999. He also drove the Woodlawn Bus 47 route for many years and drove the band bus to out-of-town football games. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and former students.
Thank you, Mr. Tanner, for the lasting impact you made on our community.

Tickets for the first home varsity football game will go on sale at 8:00 A.M. on Monday, September 7 online. Ticket office sales will begin at 7:30 A.M. on Tuesday, September 8. Ticket office hours will be Tuesday-Thursday 7:30am-4:00pm and Friday 7:30-Noon.
Season reserved parking $50 is available at the ticket office.
Reminder - Clear Bag Policy will be enforced at all MISD venues and no outside food or drink will be allowed in the gates

Longview ISD has provided us with detailed information regarding parking, shuttle options, and a visual map for reference for Friday night's football game. Please follow the link below to view the document on our website.
Marshall ISD is excited to provide transportation to Friday night's football game: MAVS vs. LOBOS!
We will be providing two buses to transport 100 fans to and from the game due to limited parking at Longview High School from construction. Please see the details below as you make plans for Friday evening.
$5 cash (per person) to ride a bus, paid when you get on the bus
First come, first available seating
Buses will be parked in front of the Marshall High School Gym
Buses will leave promptly at 6:15 P.M.
Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult
Make note of your bus number when arriving and departing
Be prepared to wait for the buses to pick you back up at the end of the football game
If you ride the bus there, you will need to ride the bus back
