Maverick Family, Marshall ISD will return to school tomorrow, March 20 at normal hours. Students and staff may bring bottled water and campuses will also have water available to provide to students and staff.

Maverick Family, the City of Marshall has provided MISD with a suspected timeline of repair for the city’s water system. Due to the repair and water refill expected to take most of the day tomorrow, school will need to be cancelled for Thursday, March 19. MISD has high hopes that we will be able to resume on Friday.

This morning Marshall ISD has received word that the water system will not be adequate for us to return to school today. Due to this, MISD must cancel classes for today. We appreciate everyone’s concern and will be ready to see our students as soon as we possibly can. We will update our parents, community and students as we receive additional information from the city.

The City of Marshall has advised MISD that it is likely that our water will be restored mid-morning on Wednesday. As of tonight, we are planning for a delayed start to school. PreK and Elementary campuses will begin at 10:00 with doors opening at 9:30 and MJHS, MHS, MEGS and DAEP beginning at 10:30 with doors opening at 10:00. If your child rides a bus, his/her bus will pick up your child approximately 2.5 hours later than their normal pick up time. We will continue to communicate with the city officials and on Wednesday morning, we will announce whether we will be able to move forward with this plan or if we will have to cancel school based on water availability. If you choose, you may send bottled water to school with your child. Lunch will be provided.

Maverick Family,

After communicating with city officials, Marshall ISD will be canceling school today due to the water main break. Parents may keep their students home or come pick them up if they are already at school. Any bus rider students who are already at school may be picked up by their parents. If not, elementary bus routes will begin running at 11:30AM, and MJHS and MHS bus routes will begin running at noon. We will continue to communicate with parents as the day progresses.
